Hi there! Thanks for visiting The Lorraine Method (TLM). I'm Marie L. Kirton, an alumna and former Associate Director of Middle and Upper School Admissions at The Hewitt School in New York City. During my time at Hewitt, I oversaw the Student Tour Guide Program and led the middle and upper school divisions to have the highest enrollment in the school's history.

Propelled by my passion for education and equity, I created TLM to help families navigate the competitive admissions process with opportunities to refine your stories and to practice articulating your values, interests, and goals through coaching sessions with me. Although I fundamentally believe a quality education should be a free and basic human right that people should not have to spend additional dollars on, the reality is that there is an unequal system that renders independent school inaccessible for most. I want to be a part of the solution of leveling the playing field as opposed to contributing to an inequitable ecosystem. (You can read more about why I created TLM here).

By day, I work at Two Sigma Investments, LP, as an early career Talent Partner. On a daily basis, I work closely with recruiters and hiring managers, conduct interviews, review resumes and cover letters, and create DEI strategies as the partnerships lead. I hope to continue to be a resource for individuals beyond the independent school journey.

I graduated from Haverford College in Haverford, PA and currently serve as an alumni interviewer.

The Lorraine Method is a member of Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA).
